Our well-known Character Education program gives our educators the tools and support needed to instill in students from a young age a strong, intrinsic moral fiber that grows with them, using positive incentives that reward exceptional behavior. As a result, our graduates are respectful and responsible young adults.

Character Education starts in our preschools with our Peacemaking curriculum and extends through our Elementary and Middle School. Our Peacemaking curriculum encourages children to talk to one another when something is bothering them, shows them how to peacefully and calmly settle disputes, teaches children how to show respect, warmth, and kindness toward one another, and uses positive words and praise. We also focus on positive decision making, relationship building, and learning about a different virtue each month which is taught in an age-appropriate way and shows children how to use these virtues in their everyday interactions with others.

Each month, our teachers and students participate in character education focused on specific virtues. Teachers and students have active discussions about each virtue, and students are rewarded throughout the month for demonstrating each virtue. In our Elementary and Middle School, students in each grade are assigned a character virtue and are responsible for developing a short skit, play, or song to present to all grade levels in a school-wide assembly.

Virtues include:

  • Citizenship
  • Gratitude
  • Mindfulness
  • Patience
  • Respect
  • Responsibility
  • Forgiveness
  • Diligence
  • Kindness and Empathy
  • Honesty and Fairness
